The Long Drive

Good day.

My name is Jen. I am an author, a mother, a wife, a beast wrangler, and a mediocre cook. I am obsessed with reading, writing, and viewing creative, personal work. Work that comes from the heart, not the need to fatten my pocketbook. Work that I must make.

I am inspired by others who have the bravery to delve deeply into themselves and show the world what they find there.

My fiction is all well and good, and it’s not too bad, but the work you will find here is where the personal and fictitious collide. Where my raw heart and craft come together and create something that must be shared.

The Long Drive is a collection about living as someone whose drive has been pounded into her since the day she was born, whose drive is beautiful but also difficult to manage. Partly, I wish to deconstruct the drive, something my therapist would approve of, I am sure. But, as so many of us are, I am the result of my origins, my family, my earliest days. The world has shaped me, and I am eager to move forward and communicate just how that has happened and what the result has been.

As with all things personal, creating personal work comes with its own schedule, so I present this collection to you without promises. I will reveal it to you as it is revealed to me.
